experimental flag

I've added a new configure flag --enable-experimental 
which will define the symbol EXPERIMENTAL during compilation.

Over the next few days, I'll go over the sources and try 
select out those features that are experimental (currently mdb and
browsermm).  

In this way, for the next release,  we can send out the 
code as is and interested parties can play with the new stuff
if they so desire.  

David or Andreas, could one of you write the autoconf stuff that will
check if gtkmm is installed on the compilation machine.  I didn't
see it in there.
