Looking at the code it appears that "Import Music..." is trying to add th=
e =20
files to the old database. I've put a patch for that in zinf--browsermm. =

It shouldn't have simply crashed though, it should have just appeared to =
=20
do nothing. Does it always crash when you try this?

By default it will simply do a search your entire filesystem, or a least =

thats the idea. I have to admit the whole feedback thing hadn't really =20
crossed my mind, I'm so used to having a console in the background which =
=20
does have lots of scrolling output when you try this. I guess it should b=

a simple matter of MusicDb sending out "Currently searching ..." messages=
 =20
and echoing those to the status bar.

Did the artist/album text have any accented or other special characters =20
in? I seem to remember we have problems when metadata isn't in valid UTF-=
8 =20
format. I have to admit I don't much about this though. Anyone care to =20
chip in?

The time thing, by the way, is a known problem with getting the length of=
 =20
MP3 files using the new metadata architecture. It should work currently =20
work for Ogg/Vorbis files you may have.

It's simply a list of tracks below the currently selected item in the =20
tree. It can be useful to quickly find a particular track without =20
expanding lots of items on the tree (e.g. when you can remember the artis=
t =20
and not the album of a particular track, and you have lots of albums for =
=20
that artist) It is optional, have a look at the "View" menu, the Classic =
=20
Layout will get rid of it.

Not really sure why I put it on by default though. Does anyone have any =20
ideas on what the default layout should be? My current preference would b=
e =20
for Classic + Playlist Tabs.

Have you noticed any other graphic's problems? I've noticed the =20
musicbrowser seems to flicker a lot on my machine in Windows. I'm not =20
really sure how much of this is Zinf's fault or if GTK+ on Win32 is simpl=
y =20
slow. It's obviously something to look into when I get some time.

Isn't that what has always happend? Surely if want to expand the album in=

the tree you single click the expander icon? Or have I missed something?
