I've got a working version with the new build system.
There are some bumps, but it is there.

1.  Make sure you have automake-1.7 installed and used by default
2.  Use autoconf 2.50  or >
3.  When building from CVS you need to have the entire suite
    of libraries installed.  alsa, orbit, etc..
4  CXXFLAGS=-O ./configure helped.
5. No soundcard.pmo yet.


Caveat:   the tree is a bit unstable.. don't
update unless you want to debug
