Some issues I stumbled upon on my way: 1) The RIO plugin doesn't compile (try --enable-rio). It obviously missed some interface changes. 2) po/zinf.pot is a generated file (see po/Makefile.in.in, there is a rule for it), and should therefore be removed from CVS.
