Hi, Both replys were extremely helpfull thank you for that! The problem still remains, you were correct about the gui not being build. So I checked my gtk library and found i have version 1.2.10 but it is not detected by configure. The directory /usr/local/lib (where the musicbrainz and id3 libraries are installed to) is in my /etc/ld.so.conf and I tried ldconfig but since they were already in the file does it make a difference??? I tried installing gtk and 1.2.0 but it won't compile becouse i have glib version 1.2.10 so i tried installing glib 1.2.0 but after that gtk still won't compile becouse it is still linked to 1.2.10 but version 1.2.0 is found. Cant i use the latest gtk version??? I realy hate to revert to older libraries since once you get one program working the rest will crach. Please help me out some more...
