I had discovered FreeAMP a while back, but with the final version under that name I began having trouble getting it to run after adding my MP3 collection to the My Music library. I figured FreeAMP was dead after the website disappears until someone pointed me towards Zinf. Unfortunately the latest version of Zinf gives me the same trouble, but maybe someone knows how to fix it. I've got over 20 gigs of MP3s in a single MP3 directory on my second hard drive (all in a artist/album hierarchy structure). When I try to add the folder in My Music the program searches for a while before eventually giving me a error window like this: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error Program: C:\Program Files\Zinf\zinf.exe abnormal program termination" After that the program dies, and I get the same error message each time I try to start zinf again. I can delete the metadatabase (which is about 431 KB) file in the db directory and that will allow me to start zinf again, but I get the error again after more searching in My Music. Any ideas on how to fix this? I really love the My Music library/playlist function in Zinf so any help would be appreciated.
