If you are also a programmer, you could try to consolidate the strings and decide which are user oriented string vs. debug/error strings which should probably stay in English. Let me know which of these you can do. Since this is the first translation it will probably take a while to get the kinks out. Is there anyone else out there with translation experience using gnu gettext?
