Sounds like we may have some endian issues on PPC.

If you have compiled zinf yourself 
Could you do the following:

>ulimit -c unlimited
>zinf ... (cause the core dump)
>gdb zinf core 
....
>bt

And send the output to the list.

These numbers are currently ignored and only matter if you have
multiple sound cards.

More importantly does ogg123 work?  Are the alsa modules loaded on your
machine (do an lsmod and look for the snd-* modules)
