Dropping windows support doesn't mean you have to stop using what you're using. It just means what you're using is what you're left with. If it works it works. Good. In any case, ripping windows out is going to take some time and the next release will be pushed back until this is done if it's done. And i really think it will be done. You have nothing to worry about. We might be compelled to make an updated last windows version of zinf from the cvs to fix some bugs that have been fixed in the windows tree for some time in cvs. But that wont be the version that is going to be released for unix.
