You should probably switch this to just "Sun's Java Runtime
Environment." Autopackage will make it clear that Java is needed if
it's not installed. It will say something like "Could not find Sun's
Java Runtime Environment. Please install this package to continue."

Is the problem that Autopackage says that Java is missing? I think
that it might not like the 1.6.0 in $INTERFACE_VERSIONS.
$INTERFACE_VERSIONS should be versioned in the form of Major.Minor...

In other words, try stripping the micro version: 1.6.0 -> 1.6.
