Issues with autopackage SVN and _checkEULA

Because of the problems I encountered with the Autopackage development
environment package, I updated my SVN checkout of Autopackage and
rebuilt all the tools, installed them as root and tried building my
package again.

Everything goes smoothly and the package is created. It's worth
mentioning here that I'm developing on Ubuntu 7.10 (64-bit version).
Once the package is ready I tested an install and it outright refuses
to run on my x86-64 machine:

Sorry, this package is incompatible with your CPU architecture.

It needs x86, you have x86_64. Try checking where you got this package to
see if there is a compatible version.

Of course, trying to add x86_64 to my CPUArchitectures line in
vdrift.apspec is not possible because autopackage refuses to build
that too. Shouldn't it at least attempt to install since most x86-64
machines will run 32 bit x86 code?

I have a regular x86 machine here running Ubuntu 7.10 and I tested the
package on there. It won't install there either. I get:

The last error is from me using ^C to kill the process since it seemed
to hang after that.

Any ideas on how to fix these problems? Thanks in advance.
