Yes, this is possible. Although, what Jan Niklas suggest below is the
best option :)

I was working this weekend on setting up VMWare on my machine so that
I can build Autopackage on an old distribution aswell as test on some
system. (I've had issues with building on ubuntu before, and I don't
want to take chances)

I have never done a release before, since Curtis took care of all
that, but I've been silently preparing for one the last few weeks by
fixing the remaining bugs with 1.2.5 milestone (i.e. applying fixes
that Jan Niklas and others has been providing!)

I will try to push out an RC this week and then if no major issues
pops up we should be able to release1.2.5 sometime next week.
