I've created new packages and tarballs. You can find them on
http://www.autopackage.org/download-tools.html

Let me know if there are still issues.

And regarding your other problem, make sure you don't have multiple
versions of autopackage on your system (check both in /usr and
~/.local). Sometimes it can cause these kind of weird issues.
