GCompris contains many data files, images and sounds. The generated autopackage file takes 92MB. Installing it on my system (Athlon 1.8GHz with 700MB RAM) takes about 15 minutes which is excessive. I suppose there is a compression system in place with a policy to compress a lot. For GCompris since many data is already compressed we waste a lot of CPU for a poor compression ratio. I would prefer to offer a 110MB package that installs in 5 minutes. Is there a way to control the compression ratio ? -- Bruno Coudoin http://gcompris.net Free educational software for kids http://toulibre.org Logiciel Libre à Toulouse http://april.org Promouvoir et défendre le Logiciel Libre --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: autopackage-dev-unsubscribe-OfajU3CKLf1/[email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: autopackage-dev-help-OfajU3CKLf1/[email protected]
