This reminds me of mfsBSD (also mfslinux, based on OpenWRT) - https://mfsbsd.vx.sk

It would be great if there a FreeBSD version (build instructions at https://github.com/mmatuska/mfsbsd/blob/master/BUILD.md). It would be useful for the ZFS things.
