Follow-up Comment #1, bug #66231 (group grub):

The GRUB project unfortunately does not consider bugs from downstream
projects. Ubuntu adds a bunch of patches not in the official GRUB releases.
Please file a bug with Ubuntu.

Having said that, if you would like to help fix it. Build GRUB from git and
see if you have the same problem.

If you do, could you see if this is fixed by this patch, which has not been
accepted yet?
