I'm not able to repeat this bug -- as far as I can tell, the simulation 
is
running the same on both Linux and Windows (and OS X, for that matter). 
  The
small white block appears to be rotating counter-clockwise (viewed from
behind the red bar -- the default angle when the body comes to a rest).

Is it possible that one of your breve builds is a beta?  There was a 
change
shortly before the 1.8 release that might have caused joints to rotate 
in
the opposite direction from the beta.
