To be honest, semicolons at the end of lines or between commands seem 
rather like a rather poor choice of a symbol and the whole process 
seems quite backwards.

Coming from a background of "I learned to read English first so I 
naturally think that way", when someone presses return to go to the 
next line, the compiler should think "hey, I'll just treat that like 
the programmer wanted the line to end".

If the programmer wants the next line to be a continuation of the line 
before it, there should be a "line continuation symbol" such as Apple's 
option L.
