Hello All, I am in the planning stages of my first Breve project (who knows when I'll actually get to work on it due to other work priorities) and thought I'd run a brief synopsis of what I want to do past the list to see if it is possible and whether there are any things I should look out for in the process. The simulation will have multiple occurrences three types of "entities." The Entities: 1. A mobile agent consisting of three parts--two spheres joined by a bar (no rotation necessary), a dumbbell shape (other shapes could be considered). 2. A mobile agent consisting a single unit...a bar or rectangle, for example. 3. A stationary version of 2. I want to have types 1 & 2 moving about the environment in a random walk. When one of the spheres of a type 1 entity bumps into a type 2 or 3, it "sticks" to it for a user-defined period of time (with some randomized wobble to the time), then releases. It can then stick back if other conditions are right. I want to modulate the strength of attraction (think magnet) by modulating the nearest neighbor radius; when a type 2 or 3 enters the nearest neighbor radius of a type 1, the type 1 will tend to move toward the type 2 or 3. So, increasing the nearest neighbor radius would essentially increase the strength of the "magnet." The other way I want to modulate the "strength" of the association is by adjusting the length of time the entities remain associated. A single type 1 entity can be simultaneously associated with two of either type 2 or 3 (or, of course, one of either). Also, I would like to get some numerical data out of this...is this typically done by printing out specific parameters to the log file or can one have this done automatically? I hope the above makes sense. Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!
