I wrote a plug-in for Breve several versions ago.  It was a quick a 
dirty thing, and I've not looked at it in a while...so I can't promise 
it still compiles and works, etc.  Moreover, I believe some of the 
functionality of what I did is now in Breve.  However, if you just want 
an example of someone who did it, I can provide that (at least an 
older-version example).

I do use MacOS X, but I BELIEVE the comment in my overly-simplistic 
Makefile should explain correctly how to compile the library for Linux. 
  I can't promise...but at least it is one more data point.
