It's my understanding that the Core Image technologies are intended to 
let normal applications implicitly take advantage of hardware 
accelerated OpenGL rendering for special effects.  Since breve 
rendering is already using hardware accelerated OpenGL, I don't think 
there will be an explicit need to make use of the Core Image framework.
