I had to compile it myself since it was not present on the machine I'm using for simulation. Maybe you can use some kind of #ifdef-structure to compile the correct piece, depending on the ffmpeg version. But I read that frame_rate and frame_rate_base were removed from cvs on 30th of april (http://groups.google.be/group/lucky.freebsd.multimedia/browse_thread/thread/7356fb8ff64ca049/ea46217c55692203?lnk=st&q=frame_rate+frame_rate_base+remove+cvs+ffmpeg&rnum=1#ea46217c55692203), and the latest official release dates back to the 9th of july 2004! But it should indeed be possible to compile it also with this release, since most users have that version.
