It's very frustrating.  I'm working on a secure Linux server project 
and had to include apache1.3 against my initial design due to these 
issues.  If it's going to be a scalable server OS, it needs a reliable 
webserver.  But I also wanted apache2 in there, so now I have to ship 
both.  Very very annoying.
