autoconf/automake shouldn't force you to build info files, so I'm
surprised you're having this problem.  If you don't have makeinfo in
your path, you can force GNU make to use another program.  For
example, when running configure

	configure MAKEINFO=/bin/true ...

When I get a chance later today, I'll take a closer look at it.  info
files shouldn't be required builds.
