I don't know what is possible with the new plugin system as we're
still using the stable version. But for the old system you'd need
to change the code. Wherever the value of this custom field is
read/written you'd need to change the database access into your
own function (call different DB, call external prog...).

I don't really understand what you'd like to do so I can't
