Thanks for the link - might be useful for future reference.

I vaguely recall some similar discussions on our own forums [1], but not
sure if that really got anywhere. You might want to do some searching there.

Also for the record, a feature request was raised on our tracker many years
ago [2], but in fact there's no useful info in the ticket.

I think it would have been easier to setup/manage doing things the other way
around (i.e. using a phpBB auth plugin calling the MantisBT SOAP api, or
connecting directly to Mantis DB) ;-)

We unfortunately don't have an authentication plugin system (although
that's been on the roadmap for a long time [3]), so I think this is really
going to require some customizing of MantisBT core.

Anyway, keep us informed of your progress, either here, in the ticket [2] or
in the relevant forum thread.
