Agreed. It is now in the default development branch.  But why am I
being told it doesn't exist anymore?  A closed branch still exists in
the repo and I shouldn't be creating it.

Interesting, I am not getting the same error now and hg push works to
push my one changeset. Something must have gone seriously wrong with
the sf repos last night. But it seems to be working again.
