Just as additional info: 

- Debian is currently on the way on removing massively Python2 applications.
  While it is true that buster ships with Python2, this is not yet determined
  for bullseye. E.g. trac is currently scheduled for removal, because there is
  no Python3 version yet.

- I am running roundup 1.6 under Python 3.7.2rc1 since Nov 2018, with some
  minor patches (that could already be part of 2.0, I didn't check). I wouldn't
  expect major fallout when releasing for Python3.
