xapian file locked

We have about 20 active users on our 'it' tracker. As the local roundup admin, I recently got an email containing this stack trace:

DatabaseLockError: Unable to get write lock on /var/www/html/it/db/text-index: already locked

It looks like it is trying to get a lock for the /var/www/html/it/db/text-index directory.

$ ls -ld /var/www/html/it/db/text-index
drwxr-xr-x. 2 apache apache 4096 Feb 25 09:18 /var/www/html/it/db/text-index

According to this:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-xapian-index/+bug/764701

it is a known bug, and appears there is no fix for it yet. Looked at the xapian bug system here:

  http://trac.xapian.org/report

but didn't find anything useful when searching for 'DatabaseLockError'.

We are using xapian version 1.2.15. Looked in the release notes:

    http://trac.xapian.org/wiki/ReleaseNotes

For versions 1.2.16 and the latest 1.2.17 and didn't find anything useful (xapian-core and xapian-bindings).

Is this a problem you have encountered with roundup/xapian?
