In the past the limit for SF mailing lists has been 256KB, maybe
the list admin can increase this again?

It could very well be that now someone clicked on the link
(maybe even a bot "clicking" through the web archive)
and thus canceled your message. So maybe you can try to cancel your
mail yourself and then send a smaller email. If a patch is attached,
maybe just gzip it? If multiple are, send multiple mails?
Or if you attached a screenshot, maybe reduce the size or quality or
use one of the image hosting platforms?
