Those are the Motif headers.  You have to install them separately.  The 
installation instructions tell you where to find it.

Ah, that's the rub..."without any IDE".  I looked at it and was overwhelmed 
by the amount of work I'd have to do to figure out how to get it going 
without an IDE.  I gave up.
