As nearly as I could tell, having the splash screen make security assertions worked fine. We should stick with that solution until we have clear proof more is needed. --marcs -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Karp, Alan H Sent: Tuesday, September 02, 2014 8:15 AM To: capibara-qWit8jRvyhVmR6Xm/[email protected]; General discussions concerning capability systems. All we could think of was to change the splash screen to say "Enabling Secure Interactions." I don't know how much that helped. Maybe we should have just popped up some security dialog boxes at random times. They wouldn't have to do anything, just annoy the user into feeling secure. They might also serve to distract attackers. ________________________ Alan Karp Principal Scientist Enterprise Services, Office of the CTO Hewlett-Packard Company 1501 Page Mill Road Palo Alto, CA 94304 (650) 857-3967, fax (650) 857-7029 http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Alan_Karp _______________________________________________ cap-talk mailing list [email protected] http://www.eros-os.org/mailman/listinfo/cap-talk
