It seems likely that the communications and programming infrastructure that evolves to support Sandstorm development will eventually be pared down to provide simplified connectivity to things that would be most easily controlled through a web interface. There is actually an funding opportunity that could cover exactly this kind of development in the form of topic (http://dodsbir.net/sitis/display_topic.asp?Bookmark=45918) in the current DARPA SBIR, which (now) is accepting submissions until 25 February. :-Dave Chizmadia
