... or at least sort of, because the admin stuff is still missing,
therefore it's not of much use...

But we finally wanted to show something. It's a really simple demo with
only more or less static xhtml pages. We will add features gradually in
the coming weeks and explain them here and in the wiki
(http://wiki.bitflux.org )

Planned features soon to come (we are a lot of those already using for
clients projects and the code is available to all, but we have to
integrate them in the demo)

* Admin (in the next days...)
* Wysiwyg with BXE (eventually also Kupu)
* Contactform
* News from Database with RSS Feed
* Metadata support
* WebDAV Interface
* PDF Generation (with Apache FOP)
* Image Resizing
* Search
etc, there's certainly more to come

A little overview of the techniques behind and the available or
soon-to-come features can be seen at http://wiki.bitflux.org/Features

How to install the current demo is described at
http://wiki.bitflux.org/Installation_of_BxCMS

Feel free to add your comments and enhancements to the wiki, if we
missed something.

The Wiki has further documentation and this will improve as well in the
next weeks.

How the site should look like, if you have installed it, can be seen at
http://ng.bitflux.org/

As their is no admin interface, you have to edit the content "by hand".
For doing this, just open the xhtml files in the data directory and edit
them. Make sure, you save them again as UTF-8. The CMS is capable of
handling all unicode characters, see for example the contact section ;)

If you want to add or remove new pages, you have to do that by hand
currently as well. Insert the appropriate entries into the properties
table (just copy from the existing ones). And a intelligent admin for
doing just that is really coming soon...

The site is by the way fully XHTML 1.0 compliant and uses CSS only for
styling. Thanks to Miss Monorom (http://monorom.to) for the input.

If you plan to implement a new website with our CMS, we highly recommend
using this new CMS as the old is not further developed. Furthermore we
guaruantee backwards compatibility from now on, since 2 projects of our
own already run on that code. And if you need a PHP 5 hoster, go to our
partner http://netzwirt.ch (there are others out there,
http://dotgeek.org for example)

As the documentation is pretty sparse right now, we ask you to ask any
upcoming questions here. Also feature requests, bug reports, etc are
highly welcome. Furthermore if you need a feature, which is not
implemented in the demo, just ask for advice here, maybe we can then
implement that a little bit earlier.

Have nice day and we hope to hear from you.
