It's already there. The events-plugin. The db-layout and needed
.configxml is described in inc/bx/plugins/events.php, a simple xsl is in
themes/3-cols/events.xsl.

Possible is a lot of stuff :) But that's not included by default. you
would have to set new entries as "private" or "draft" instead of
"public". And most presumably send an email to the moderator.

It's a plugin like all the others. I don't have the time right now to
really describe it.. It's basically like the blog plugin.. let me check,
if I find the openblog.xsl somewhere (but that won't happen today)
