dealing with Blog Entrys - errors occur

Hi

I'm running latest bxcms built with php 5.1.1 and mysql 4.1.14 everything
worked well so far, besides posting
a blog entry:

"Make new Blog Entry" leads to an 500 Server errror
(/usr/local/php5/ZendOptimizer.so: undefined symbol: empty_string)

"Blog overview" leads to Call to a member function appendChild() on a
non-object in *
/bxcms/inc/bx/streams/blog.php* on line *123

any ideas whats wrong?

so far, I couldn't find anything on this in the archives, so please mind if
I'm wrong here.
