Afaik, nor versioning, neither staging are not in todo or wishlist.

If i understand problem, this requires somewhat generalized and
unified resource/document handling.
Currently resources handled mainly in plugins,
they provide different resource-ids.

For staging, additionaly, some kind of workflow should be introduced,
to provide permissions for actions and state changes.
