Re: "Flux CMS"?

Hi

Ok, I want to apologize for the bad communication from my side.

Yes, BxCMS is now "Flux CMS", because, simply said, BxCMS was way toooo
techie for the common user and noone could remember that name. BxCMS was
always just more or less a working title, but stayed for a long time due
to lack of a better name. We finally decided for "Flux CMS", no real
reasons why, it certainly fits into the whole bitflux/freeflux stuff (as
matthias said) and it's really hard to come up with a decent name :)

Why we finally decided to change the name *now*, was that we're
currently doing a new Flux CMS Website with some nicer design and more
"marketing" content than the current wiki. We were hoping to be finished
earlier with that, but there's still some content missing. Then the big
announcement would have been "BxCMS is now Flux CMS and has a new
website". We'll still do it that way, but you already figured out now
the name change, which was quite obvious anyway, if you looked at
freeflux.net or did an svn up :)

All this is done because we want to make Flux CMS more appealling to the
masses, among others with a new and nice admin ( see
http://devblog.flux-cms.org/archive/2005/06/28/fresh-up-for-the-admin.html
for some more discussion since the last announcement)

As we didn't really announce Flux CMS yet, there's still your chance to
say "no way, that name is just bad" and we will think about it. I
personally like the name for different reasons, one among others is the
meaning of Flux and the connection to the underlying technology Popoon
with its pipelines :)
