Exciting opportunity to join a growing technical publications team for a
leading medical device company.  The successful candidate must have a
strong sense of organization and be a team player.  Attention to detail
is critical.  If you have a keen ability to design information for ease
of use by content users, and ease of reuse by authors, as well as
excellent oral and written communication skills, apply today!  An
understanding of programming concepts, operating systems and/or
networking is a plus.  

 
Functions include:
 
Create, edit and maintain  technical user and service documentation  in
various output formats (pdf, online help, cd, etc.). 

 

Develop content utilizing a content management system.  

 

Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and/or product management
during design phase to gain an understanding of the product.

 

Analyze requirements of project to determine types of publications
needed. Develop documentation project plans and timelines.

 

Edit other writers' work products and provide constructive feedback
based on styleguide to ensure accuracy and completeness of
documentation.

 

Qualifications: 

*                    BS Degree in English, Technical Communication or
equivalent.

*                    Analytical problem-solving

*                    Very strong communication, interpersonal, and
organizational skills; superior written/verbal communication skills

*                    Minimum 5 years of experience in technical writing 

*                    Proficient in Framemaker and Structured Framemaker

*                    Experience with Minimalism Writing Style

*                    Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a
team setting.

*                    Open minded, curious, self- learner and self-
starter capable of working with minimal supervision

*                    Must be able to ask appropriate questions and
communicate effectively to a broad range of local and remote people
including users, designers, executives, writers, and technical staff. 

*                    Technical and analytical skills and the ability to
grasp complex concepts quickly.

 

 

Desired:

*                    Six Sigma Greenbelt certification

*                    Familiarity with medical devices

*                    Experience with Content Management Systems (DDTs,
EDDs, Templates)

*                    Knowledge of  metadata, information retrieval, and
usability

*                    Proficient in Arbortext Epic or other XML authoring
tool.

*                    Familiarity with XML authoring and publishing
tools, database structures, and information modeling.
