I just saw this come in on my Freshmeat newsletter:

--------
http://krang.sourceforge.net/

Krang is an open-source content-management system designed to publish
magazine websites. It is a Perl application which uses Apache/mod_perl
and MySQL, as well as numerous CPAN modules.

Krang is a large application with many features, making a compact
feature list difficult to come by. Krang provides a simple story and
media editing environment for magazine editors as well as a complete
template development environment for web designers. On the backend, Perl
programmers can customize Krang to control the data entered in the story
editor as well as the way templates are used to build output. Krang was
designed with flexibility and simplicity as its highest goals.
--------

Has anyone ever heard of this CMS before? If so, what are your opinions
of it? I looked through the sample websites and was pretty impressed.

Oh also: I looked through a couple of the suggestions so far (Drupal,
pMachine). I couldn't find a good implementation of a magazine with
Drupal and reviewing what the package came with left some things lacking
(adding Print This Article and Email Article to Friend weren't even
standard in the base install). pMachine did have a number of good
magazine examples, so that one's definitely going on my list to look
into further and I need to dig deeper into its feature set before I'll
know more.

I'll check out SPIP as well. I tried looking through their website
today but for some reason their server was lagging pretty bad. I'll
check them out in a day or two when the server slowness is resolved. I
did like that they had a commenting system setup for each article.

Thanks for all the answers so far. If there's additional
recommendations, I'd love to hear them! :)
