I respectfully disagree. I've been a subscriber to the CMS list for many years. Almost all the list traffic consists of someone in IT asking for a product recommendation, and multiple people chiming in about the wonderful features of their product. The remaining posts involve how to use a new technology. (This is an oversimplification, but not by much.) None of this bears more than a passing resemblance to what it means to manage content -- to develop a standard way that people write, review, approve, publish, archive and delete content. "Managing content," in this sense, is not at all about technology. That's why I asked Bob Doyle to start this new list, for people who do the management can ask each other questions about culture, politics, standards, etc. --Hilary At 11:18 AM -0700 8/12/04, chris wrote: >Re: all the lists - > >I think that the growing suites of discussion lists resembles an >over-normalized database.
