Dierk,

         I would like to offer a simplistic answer. Just as the features of 
the C language are just a subset (mostly) of C++,  the features of a wiki 
are just a subset of those features of a powerful CMS. To that extent, a 
wiki is just a (CMS)--, or "CMS minus minus." Conversely, you could say 
that a CMS is (wiki)++, or "wiki plus plus."

         I realize that this is a simplistic answer. The truth is a bit 
more complex.
