I can confirm that, having led a SPS deployment here at ASHA. It is great for creating private team spaces but is somewhat awkward if your goal is to create a more transparent organization via intranet activity. Also, SPS is all about the Office document. It is very hard to manage any significant amount of HTML content in the system without a lot of tweaking and twisting. The changing navigation systems between team spaces and the portal level are also awkward. The alert system is really great though, especially for search alerts. My favorite is a search alert on my last name so that I get a heads up whenever a document with my name in it is published. That is very handy in a decentralized organization such as ours. -David C.
