 This is absolutely a good point, one of the things with DITA is that, from 
an elements point of view, the approach is that it is a base to build on. If 
"supporting DITA" only means that the base elements of DITA have been 
included but there is no support for the inclusion of your own 
specialisations of DITA then you are likely to hit a brick wall.
