I agree.  My recommendation is PVSForPlone2.  It
integrates very nicely into the Plone UI.  BTW, that
is another distinction between Plone and eZ publish. 
Plone's management interface is merged with the public
facing site.  That is, an authenticated user with the
right permissions has access to edit pages as she
browses the site.  eZ publish has a separate
management interface.  Many people find in-site
editing intuitive but it can limit content-reuse. 
That is, a user may think of a piece of content only
within a the context of a certain location in the
site.  eZ publish has a model of nodes which represent
pages within the site hierarchy.  Content objects can
be placed in one or more nodes on the site.
