Re: CMS Differentiating Factors

Hi John,

My recent exhaustive count found 1880 CMS listed on a couple of dozen 
directories of CMS around the world.

I also made a careful study of three directories which list the key 
differentiating features of a CMS.

These directories are at

There is also a modest overlap of features here, so I have collected 
them all (over 300!) in a spreadsheet, to be used to build a more 
comprehensive list for the CMSML (a markup language for CMS) at 
http://www.cmsml.org.

We hope the results will help with the very difficult problem of CMS 
selection and evaluation.

I will be glad to send these spreadsheets to anyone interested in this 
research.
