Hi Joe, I know you asked specifically for formal works, but the following links are still worth a read if you haven't already come across them. http://www.andybudd.com/archives/2004/05/an_objective_look_at_table_based_vs _css_based_design/ http://www.sitepoint.com/article/tables-vs-css http://www.decloak.com/Dev/CSSTables/CSS_Tables_01.aspx Personally I think CSS is well worth doing provided you have access to appropriately skilled people. The main roadblock is the lack of consistency in support by browsers, and unfortunately this is not going to get much better with IE7. I don't think a CMS should have anything to do with dictating the structural markup your templates produce. It should entirely come down to your preference and business/audience goals. Does anyone have any suggested reading on this topic? I'm hoping for materials (books, papers, journals) that have formally addressed the topic especially as it relates to implementation costs, CMS, long term effects, business case, etc. Thanks!
