Hi Jane- To my knowledge, WSS/SPS do not natively include document-level security. Integrators have found various work-arounds, including using Microsoft's "rights management server." Also, some SP users buy 3rd-party tools that apply a security layer. These include Meridio and 80:20 Software. Good luck, ---------------------------------------------- Tony Byrne Silver Spring, MD USA Founder, CMS Watch V: +1 301 585 7004 Technology Evaluation Reports http://www.cmswatch.com/Reports/About/ Feed: http://www.cmswatch.com/RSS/cmswatch.xml Hi, Does anyone have experience with implementing document level security with Sharepoint WSS/SPS? If we have documents tagged with document classification information (e.g. confidential and/or role xyz), can Sharepoint interpret the tag and restrict access to the document? Thanks, jane
