The field names are cached for performance. It's possible the cache could be out of sync. Perhaps try an updateapp or a restart of ColdFusion to clear it and eliminate that as a possibility. If you take the generated request and add that field to the qf parameter you should see the results you want so it could be that for some reason that field is not being included in the list of fields to search against.
