Most of these are legacy and kept for backward compatability.  The 
reason you may not be seeing FU's in your application is that you must 
use the buildlink tag (./tags/webskin) to build your links or build them 
by hand so to speak, so that they show friendly URLs.

Buildlink responds to the Plugins config setting for Friendly URLs. 
This is important so that you can turn on and off FU generation when 
needed -- like when its not working for your configuration.
